The wonders of Italy never cease – our cultural partners, Cultural Documents have set up a new partnership between Italy and Scotland to present the first ever exhibitions of contemporary art in a new national museum in Italy: Castello Pandone in Venafro was recently inaugurated and as well as being home to a beautiful collection of art from the Renaissance period, the unique collection of frescos of the horses which carried kings of Italy during the eighteenth century is now open every day.
Our sponsorship partner Deirdre MacKenna who runs Cultural Documents said “This is an extraordinary opportunity to present specially commissioned works by living artists in a resonant historical context. And it’s a real honour that Scots artists Valentina Bonizzi and Elaine Shemilt have been invited to be the first contemporary artists to present works in this museum”.
